The hurt and broken in America

I am so thankful again to be on this trip. While it has been quite enjoyable, there have been times where God has used me to touch my friends who are hurting and broken, right here in America. I look around and I see people worn out from relationships that have taken a toll on them. I see people truly suffering from what I think is the biggest downfall in our culture: individualism. Individualism says, "what I do, what I decide, how I act, and what I say has no affect on anyone else but me". This is FAR from the truth, and I have seen on this trip, and even prior to it, the devastating effects it has had on our culture. People will do anything to stay comfortable, to avoid responsibility, and to keep doing what they want, when they want to. (I am generalizing right now). I do not by any means think that means we go to the extreme of Communism, where if you are different or do anything to disrupt or raise a "fuss" about ANYTHING you could be imprisoned... No that's not right either. We do, however, need to find a balance because what we do DOES affect others, more than we probably care to notice. I know this to be true of myself at times, and while I try my best to have grace, I really hate that I do it.
It is here that I must say that the Lord has broken me for America, for my friends that I love here. While I might be going to another country, I will never stop loving and affectionately falling on my knees to intercede for my dear, beloved friends here. I know this life hurts and it's never, ever fair, but you are loved beyond all measure and I can honestly say that "it's gonna be worth it". (Rita Springer) I can say this because I have seen the other side my dear ones, I have walked through the trenches and the mud. This is the way to go... The Lord has shown me and now I show you. Walk in the way of healing, stick it out, walk it through. Go through the muck of your heart, for it is there you will find your freedom my fellow brothers and sisters. Do not be afraid of what you will see, because HE knew it was there and would be there, but in his GREAT LOVE and MERCY HE created you anyways. Nothing can ever separate us from HIS love EVER! Be blessed dear ones and do no let your hearts be downcast, but cast your cares upon him, for HE cares for you.
