You see, I am from 'Murica and I have had a calling on my life that I've known about for many years. I have wanted to go and live in Africa, working with people, loving them, learning about the culture, and telling them about Jesus since I was about 12 or 13... Possibly even longer. I love America and grew up here, but I have to be honest: it never felt like home and I never felt like I fit in here. This past year I got to work in Johannesburg (Joburg), SA. I loved it! It felt like home to me. I felt like that's where I belonged. I know many will say well yeah our home isn't earth, it's heaven... but for me it was different. I always knew the moment I felt called to Africa that that was where I belonged. My heart aches to get back to that continent. To explore more of the beauty it has and to learn as much as I can from the people there. I don't want to change anything about it except point them to Jesus and love them, whatever love might look like.
Now, how do these US territory islands of Micronesia fit into the mix? Well, Iris global ministries, under Heidi and Rolland Baker, have a pioneering school there that prepares people for long term missions in some of most dangerous places on the earth and to the most unreached people groups. Also, since working with YWAM in Hawaii, I have had a love of the islands and the indigenous people there. I am also under a ministry called Bridges of Light and Pastors' David and Lisa Myrick, who have a hearts desire for the people on the islands of the South Pacific. It would be an honor to reach out to the people of these Islands and to the Tibetan refugees there, which would really be a step in the direction of ministry I have felt God pulling me towards: the refugees and displaced people of the DR Congo. I have also had a desire to eventually travel to other places where there are refugees and displaced people such as Colombia, Syria, South Sudan, Sudan, and a few other places.
So, in a nutshell... I am what these places have in common. I am the one that would connect these places and make them come alive to all of us. If you have a heart at all for any of these places and people, I am your connection. The great thing about the Kingdom of God is that when you support, whether financially, prayer, encouragement, etc... you are also playing a vital role in the work that is being done. You are also being hands and feet to those people because without your support I wouldn't be able to love them like Jesus does. I wouldn't be able to be there. I wouldn't be physically well to do the things I need to do etc... Prayers, encouragements, finances, wisdom, etc... plays a HUGE part in how missionaries are able to serve, love, and impact/affect the people they are serving. I ask that you prayerfully consider being a part of what these places will have in common and become a connection of the Kingdom of heaven to earth!
My need is $2250 by July, 13th. I have seen God rally people together to bring in thousands of dollars in one day, so $2250 is easy! I also need airfare which is around $1500 one way to Micronesia. Then I need long term support for raising flight money to DR Congo and monthly support. Thank you so much everyone who is praying and encouraging me as well!
Love you all!
